The Mercedes-Benz OM654 1.6L and 2.0L diesel engines use a timing chain mounted at the rear of the engine, meaning that any work involving the removal of this chain requires engine disassembly. Once the engine is removed, our tool allows the user to lock the camshafts and crankshaft in their timing-controlled positions for chain replacement. Note: Our tools can also be used to lock the camshaft and crankshaft in the vehicle while the engine is running, in order to check the timing.
