MESR-100:

The MESR-100 is an ESR capacitor tester with automatic range selection and a low-ohm measurement range from 0.001 to 100.0 Ω, supporting in-circuit testing. It uses a true 100 kHz sine wave to measure the ESR value, which conforms to the test methods used by capacitor manufacturers.

Features:

1. ESR is the series resistance inside a capacitor. By using 100 kHz, the capacitive reactance 1/(2πFC)1 / (2πFC)1/(2πFC) is effectively eliminated.

2. Once the impedance becomes very small, the true series resistance can be measured.

3. Based on this principle, the tester can determine whether a capacitor is good or defective/damaged.

4. The ESR meter applies less than 15 mV DC or peak voltage, so it will not forward-bias semiconductor junctions in good capacitors, allowing safe in-circuit testing.

5. When repairing TVs, LCDs, audio boards, etc., capacitors can be tested directly without removing them from the circuit.

6. Dual test leads enable quick and easy inspection of capacitor ESR, and a printed ESR reference chart is included for fast evaluation.
